Information

Hi there, my name is Warris and I’m a motorcycle-riding Yorkshireman with over 20 years experience in the London design industry.

I have built a reputation as a good all-rounder who can design and create realistic and impressive visuals for presentation.

Whilst designing packaging for the computer games industry, I raised the bar with my Photoshop skills and started using 3D software to achieve results that couldn’t be reached by traditional methods.

SO I have one foot in the world of print and the other in the world of pixels.

Packaging has become my primary discipline and I’ve worked within most areas of retail - FMCG, Cosmetics, Clothing and Homeware.
Prior to freelancing, I was a Creative Director and have designed and collaborated with engineers - to create exhibition stands; buyers - for catalogue production; entrepreneurs - for brochures and game production companies - for innovative packaging.

I’ve worked with many photographers and art-directed a great number of photographic shoots, designed room sets, cast models, worked with stylists and home economists. As an organised and creative individual, I love the challenges of working within a dynamic and ever changing profession.

The knowledge I’ve gained from my experience, working with various companies, has shaped my ability to adapt quickly, work efficiently, think creatively and work effectively as part of a team or on my own.

Experience - Freelance

As a freelancer, I’ve have had the pleasure of working with a multitude of diverse organisations and brands. I’ve gained the reputation as an excellent all-rounder who can sketch initial ideas, apply these to design and present high quality visuals. I can develop ideas from concept to presentation - seeing projects from start to finish.
I work in-house or remotely.
During this time, I’ve worked for the following clients:
• Beauty Pie

• Gather - London

• Sanctuary Spa

• M&S

• Lidl

• Tescos

• Sainsburys

• Waitrose

• This Way Up

• Wonderworks

• Bulletproof

• Parker Williams

• Interbrand

Creative Director - Full Time

As the creative lead, one of my many roles was to supervise and manage the entire creative process and guide the team that worked under me. I ensured the design and artwork teams produced and delivered excellent work within budget and on time.
I took responsibilty for all creative output produced by the studio. This involved developing ideas from concept to presentation.
I attended client meetings, new business introductions and presentations to both our UK and international clients.
I’ve designed and collaborated with engineers to create exhibition stands, games producers to create packaging and retailers to create new and innovative products.
I’ve art directed many photographic shoots, designed room sets, cast models and worked with stylists and home economists.
Whilst designing games packaging, I had to achieve effects beyond traditional design software and, therefore, I have become a proficient user of both Photoshop and Maya.
I was responsible for interviewing and hiring potential new creatives. It was important to me that we had a harmonious studio.
I always encouraged a positive and constructive contribution.

The happier the team... the better the results... I still believe that today.
